King She is a multi award-winning filmmaking duo.

King She launched in fall 2022 when their breakthrough short film Rare: The Boy Who Cried Swag, premiered on Nowness, won 3 Young Director Awards in Cannes, won 1.4 Awards Gold for Best Short FIlm, won Nitehawk Film Festival, was Vimeo Staff Pick and a finalist at Berlin’s Ciclope, named one of Director’s Library 2022 best films and had a North American premiere at the Oscar-qualifying Ann Arbor FIlm Festival.

Their recent collaborations on the Apple Music & Rihanna Super Bowl Halftime show won a Cannes Gold Lion for Entertainment for Music, Cannes Silver Lion for Social Film Series, a D&AD award nomination for direction, and 5 AICP nominations, including Best New Director (for which they were awarded). The two spots received over 10 million combined social impressions in the first week. It was their first commercial campaign.

Recently King She was invited by the Young Director Awards to develop and host a Podcast Series. With a lauded background in journalism and cultural anthropology, the duo delve into the documentation of filmmakers’ processes with what Shots magazine calls ‘a deep and entertaining dive into mindsets and experiences of both rising and established filmmakers.’ Listen to it here.

They were recently named to Ad Campaign’s 2023 Top 10 Director List.
